About Me

Hello!
I’m Jean Choe, an artist and designer based in Northern California. My journey to becoming a full-time artist wasn’t linear—I once studied statistics and pursued a PhD in quantitative marketing before realizing my heart was elsewhere. After having my son, I found myself returning to my first love: painting. What started as a personal creative outlet soon blossomed into something bigger, and today, I run my own art business, turning my watercolor paintings into art prints, stationery, textiles, and more.

My work is a celebration of color, painterly textures, and a touch of whimsy. I draw inspiration from nature, my family, and everyday moments, aiming to capture joy in my brushstrokes. Whether through a vibrant floral painting, a playful pattern, or a cozy tea towel design, my goal is to create art that brightens your home and brings a little happiness to your day.

Beyond creating, I love sharing my passion for watercolor through workshops, where I guide students in exploring the magic of painting. I also collaborate with companies to license my artwork for fabrics, home goods, and other products. Some of my designs have been licensed by brands like Pottery Barn Kids and PBS Fabrics, allowing my work to reach even more people in meaningful ways.

Running a creative business has been an incredible journey, filled with both challenges and moments of pure joy. Every piece I create carries the hope of making someone smile, sparking creativity, or adding a little warmth to their space. Thank you for being here—I’m so happy to share my art with you!
